The staff would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Happy New Year and thank you all for the lovely Christmas gifts.
Thank you for your time in completing the settings questionnaire. It was useful as it gave us some positive feedback towards the setting on improving our two way communication. Some parents questioned where the policies were kept. These are located in the main foyer and in the parent’s cabinets. If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to ask any member of staff.
Could we please remind you to label all your child’s belongings as we’ve had some confusion with children’s bags and clothing. It is also essential to ensure your child has safe and suitable footwear. Also could we ask that you try to be on time when collecting your child, as we need to ensure there is the correct cover to safeguard children.
During November 2011, children who are to start Primary School in September 2012 were issued a treasure chest box. If your child was issued with a box, Could we please remind you to bring in your child’s red book to enable a practitioner to sign.
This term focused learning is “Communication Language and Literacy”, however all other five areas of learning will still be supported. Some of the activities the children will be exploring within role play are ”Goldilocks and the three bears, ”Chinese New Year” and “Going on a Bear Hunt.” We would like to invite you or a family member to come into the setting and share your child’s favourite story. For more information please see any member of staff.
Thank you for all your continued support in our fundraising last year. You raised £235.00 in the Christmas raffle also £46.10 on the Christmas Bake Sale. To continue raising funds for the setting we will be holding a Valentines Bake sale in week commencing 6th Feb 2012 and on the 23rd June 2012, we will be holding a Summer Ball to be held at The Queens Head Nassington. Tickets will be available to purchase at the end of January. £35.00 per head this includes Champagne reception, drinks by the river @7.30, 3 course meal and disco til 12.30. We will also be holding an Auction and Raffle.
We are always looking at ways to continue to support the rising 5 yrs old preschool to school transition. This year we have looked into forming a stronger link with the Nassington Primary School Reception Teacher (Mrs Daley). Therefore we would like to offer rising 5 yrs (only) a Wednesday afternoon session from 12pm to 3pm during the summer term only. Firstly we need to explore if parents would welcome this, but we need to take into account the possible financial implications of this.
For those of you who have children starting Primary School in September 2012, would you be able to advise us of your preferred choice. Please see attached questionnaire.
Finally, Lisa John will be out of the setting week 6th – 10th Feb completing her 2nd study week for the Foundation Degree.
